I have been an athlete most of my life, playing ball and running track all through middle and high school. When I went to college, I started exploring other types of activities to stay in shape. That’s when I first discovered boxing and mixed martial arts. I immediately fell in love with it and started training to fight.
While learning MMA, I came across something I had never tried before, yoga. It was my sophomore year of college, and, if I’m being honest, I don’t think I had ever really stretched before that. After taking just a few classes, I decided to get certified to teach yoga. This put me on the path to changing my major in college from biology to kinesiology, the study of the human body. During that time, I became a licensed personal trainer and started fighting competitively.
Being skinny never came easy to me, so having a lot of outlets to exercise made me very happy. Now, I hope to help other people become better versions of themselves by getting stronger, learning to be more balanced and being confident in their physical fitness.
